j.g.c: Breaking that transmission dam requires Investment. With the melt down of stock markets abroad and starting now in the U.S, Consumer Confidence is in decline. A 25% decline in the S&P reduces GDP by 1%. A lack in Consumer Confidence leads to lower consumer durable purchases, weak home construction and reduced business investments. Under a threat of recession, upgrading 56K to ADSL is not a priority for either the Consumer or Carrier. It is of utmost importance for the U.S that financial stability is restored as soon as possible. The U.S cannot survive as an Island in an Ocean of distress. That distress could wash up on our shores in the form of a recession. I hope the U.S once again shows the kind of Leadership that they showed during the Mexican crisis.
