80% of computer owners are not heavy computer users. I don't know if business would justify every desk getting this setup; cost vs. benefit analysis. I have many many friends that have computers with 9.6k and 14.4k modems and I can't even get them to spend the money to buy a 28.8k modem. You assumption is partially groupthink; there in fact aren't as many people out there that will jump for this capability as you are assuming.
