Hello Mary, Your experience with trying to retrieve Medical
Records at Mayo is exactly why I bought this stock!! Four
years ago I was diagnosed with Cancer in Kansas. This last year
I have been working on a temporary assignment in Texas. Last
December I had some unexpected problems and went to the MD Anderson Cancer Hospital in Houston.

They needed all of the records of past treatments. I have
four different doctors in Kansas. Internal Medicine, Radiologist,
Surgeon and Oncologist. What a nightmare!! We never did
get all of the records. One of the Doctors had a contract
with a small company to come in once a week and fill requests
for past medical records (make copies and mail). Faxing was
not a option unless it was a matter of life and death.

Then two months ago I had to go to The University of Texas Medical
Center in Galveston for a unrelated problem. They needed some information from my records at MD Anderson in Houston before
running some tests. After a hour's worth of phone calls
they still did not get what they needed. They ended up
rescheduling me a couple of days later.

Having medical problems is stressful enough.. then to have to
deal with the bureaucratic paper chase... I was ready to kill
someone. A automated data retrieval system would have not only
made my life simpler but the Doctors and office staff as well.

I'm so sorry to hear about your illness. Hang in there and
keep a positive attitude. I know that isn't always easy to
do. I have been there... done that. I sometimes do volunteer
work for a Cancer Support Group. From what I have seen, attitude
is half the battle. NEVER EVER GIVE UP!!

God be with you,
Debbie
