Do you wish to amend this statement to address it specifically to the current economic problems are do you mean crisis in general? If the latter then I feel compelled to point out that democracy has held up pretty well over the years and has shown resilience to numerous crisis. "Totally ineffective" is not at all a well thought out statement IMO.
