Thank you, Donald, for your periodic updates on performance within the sector.
Got me wondering where this all started, so to put things in perspective I've
eyeballed Yahoo charts for prices at the beginning of 1994. Of the 41 issues
that you currently follow, only 21 seem to go back that far. I guess that
alone says something about the sector. Although we've had some tremendous
price swings, the average five year return is roughly passbook savings rate.

I figured it would be cheating to go all the way to the real bottom in 1992.
[used a handheld calculator to crunch the percentages; hope all is correct]
