Joeseph,

One of the reasons that Csco holds up so well when other networking companies are missing their numbers is that CISCO is much more broadly positioned than their competitors.

If one sector is struggling this affects CSCO far less than those that rely on that sole sector. This being said the effects of the market turmoil over the past few weeks could signal a broad slow down across the board and indeed effect CSCO. But, once again, it will effect them less than others. Also, the percentage of Cisco's business in Asia is <10% so they are somewhat insulated from this as well.

I can assure however that the banks and brokerages you mentioned, although significant, will continue to spend in order to maintain their competitive advantage. This coupled with the network churn to IP/ATM environs., and the internet explosion, AND Cisco's foray into Cable, ISP, and traditional carriers and I suspect Cisco will be fine.
