SEMATECH YEAR 2000 READINESS TESTING SCENARIOS
VERSION 2.0 OFFICIAL. Discontinue using Version 1.0 Immediately

During the last three months of 1997, an attempt was made to create a standard set of testing scenarios that could be used by equipment suppliers and customers alike to verify that their processing equipment contained no date related problems.

This task became more difficult than expected because of the large variety of environments in which this equipment runs ....

SEMATECH , derived from SEmiconductor MAnufacturing TECHnology, is a consortium of nine domestic semiconductor manufacturers:
- AMD
- Hewlett-Packard Company
- IBM Corporation
- Intel Corporation (includes the recently acquired Digital Equipment
Corporation IC sector)
- Lucent Technologies
- Motorola
- National Semiconductor
- Rockwell International Corporation
- Texas Instruments Incorporated

Beginning in 1998, a new subsidiary, International SEMATECH, was formed that includes the nine SEMATECH members plus
- Hyundai
- Philips Semiconductor
- Siemens
- STMicroelectronics (formerly SGS Thomsen)
- TSMC
