Jim, I agree with everything you say here and Im just trying to figure out how much money we are all going to lose over this conjured up scandal. This in addition to the opportunity cost of losing many good people who will never run for public office for fear of the private matters being exposed in this same sort of humiliating manner. That leaves... the religious leaders, and a few others mostly who are all dumb as a post. The good news is maybe Boxer will be out of California, that is if the republicans can figure out that right wing radicals cant win (could be wishful thinking on my part-see "dumb as a post" comment above)
