Thoughtful post, Tastes.
Couple of things....Not that I want to make this thread a game, just that I want it to be,
more than anything, FUN.
Also, and forgive me for my naivete, but it seems to me that, even when poop IS injected
into the conversation, it is the equivalent to turning the other cheek to take the high road
and not lower the playing field. Otherwise, where does the lowering stop? And when can
you defensibly say, "he/she started it"? In other words, I think it makes ME look better not
to take the bait. And it also makes the original moron look more the moron, because the
gap in behaviors is so obvious.
Your point about one not being a moron just because of certain ignorances is right on.
That was the point I tried to make early on in this thread. It's the moronic behavior I'm
after. The mean, nasty, etc. etc. etc. that I mentioned in an earlier post. That kind of
behavior, in my opinion, is fair game to be made fun of. Less than perfect intelligence, or
lack of specific knowledge in an area, is not something I want to make fun of. It's not my
style, it's not too attractive, and it is just not kind.
And no, even though I started the thread, I really have no claim on making the rules, or
dictating it's direction. I can make my wishes known, as I have, but where we go is up to
all of us.
I'm not gonna pick up my marbles and go home if things don't go my way. I may have fun
making it look that way, but those who know me, know that I rarely don't have part of my
tongue firmly planted in one of my cheeks (don't bother) when posting at SI.
