CSCO has not traded in a bear market yet, and as a specialty boxmaker, a la SUNW, DELL, etc., it is in a very cyclical industry. Other businesses just MUST cut capital equipment purchases in a tough economic environment. Already placed orders get postponed or cancelled ... It is a matter of survival for them, not of choice. There is a reason why "consumer noncyclicals" are so popular ...

I was referring to last couple of months, when split expectations first started, and then became "official". I never daytrade.

PS. Also, look how CSCO dropped by 50% in 1994 ... compare to GE now and then. (GE is a "typical" market stock)
