Scalable Intranet Message Store
NetTalk is designed to be a fully scalable intranet e-mail and directory server. All Internet-based mail systems supporting the POP3 protocol can use NetTalk as their mail server. This includes Netscape Navigator, Qualcomm Eudora, Windows 95 Inbox, Microsoft Exchange client, QuickMail, Pine, etc.
NetTalk also contains a fast and robust SMTP/MIME Internet MTA that can route e-mail traffic within the organization and consolidate Internet e-mail access.
Transparent Message Switch and Automatic Directory Synchronization
NetTalk provides message switching between client-server proprietary systems, LAN-based e-mail systems and pure Internet mailers. It is designed to provide a high degree of fidelity by preserving, or appropriately mapping, all elements of a message including text and binary attachments, Rich-Text Formats and linked and embedded OLE objects.
NetTalk also supports tunneling between like systems, allowing organizations to adopt the intranet as the sole backbone without losing any element of routed e-mail messages.
NetTalk is designed to provide automatic and transparent directory synchronization among all connected e-mail system directories. Synchronization covers name, address and all other user profile attributes such as telephone and fax numbers. All synchronized information is also stored in NetTalk's directory, making it the only intranet directory an organization should need.
Easy to Set Up, Configure and Manage
A simple, intuitive intranet solution, NetTalk can easily integrate with a customer's existing network infrastructure, eliminating the need for major end-user modification. It includes a feature-rich Graphical User Interface (GUI) that allows easy administration and monitoring. NetTalk's end-to-end Message Tracking features enable administrators to provide increased service levels to their end users through the ability to track messages independent of their point of origin or their target destination. Additionally, built-in Queue Monitoring simplifies day-to-day administration and management of the e-mail network.
Pricing and Availability
NetTalk will be available through an early adopters program in December and is expected to ship to end-users in the first half of 1997. Entry price is $1,995 and increases with the number of users. NetTalk will be distributed through a network of VARs and distributors.
