I was reading on NoBeige.com on Thursday that Apple was offering an employee price of $699 for the iMac. This price was described as "near cost".

You've got to be kidding. If you really believe that Apple is offering employees iMac's for $699 and that it's near cost, you should bookmark Recon as your one and only news source. :)

Really-I highly doubt this rumor, and if it happens to be true, then apple has got to be losing money, maybe it's a "gift" to employees or something.
