Michelle,

I see them pushing to get Starr's report by the 9/15 and then if they decide to start an impeachment process it will take about 6 weeks to get this matter behind us. I do not know what is in Starr's report but I hope he spared us the hearsay and descriptions of sex.

I do fault Clinton for taking the risk that he did with this Lewinsky matter when he knew that he had enemies investigating him. It shows a serious lapse of good judgment. It also means his marriage is not very good.

However, I laud his efforts in Ireland and Bosnia. His efforts against the Tobacco industry is an important initiative. I am not crazy about his insurance policy but I do think we need to make available medical treatment to the whole population.

I think he assembled an admirable financial team in Rubin and Greenspan. I am not very happy with his Secretary of state or the attorney general. I think Reno should have resigned after the Branch Davidian fiasco.( The mishandling of that led directly to the Oklahoma bomb disaster.) Iraq is a real problem since the coalition has fallen apart. I think the job of the president has become increasingly difficult.

He is a very capable president who seems to be lacking real support in his home life and that makes him more susceptible to women like Monica. His anger over the intrusions into his personal life are understandable. He has been persecuted without mercy during both his terms in office.

I agree with Senator Monihan that we should get this matter behind us ASAP regardless of the outcome.
