As a novice to investing, and gold in particular, it is unfortunate that this thread responds so frequently and entertains people like Don. Lets forget about Don and not forget about the people like myself who turn to this thread to learn and gain some insight and knowledge. I think there are several people like myself sitting on the sidelines that view this thread,"lurking", and not responding because perhaps we are somewhat naive regarding these matters. So my first point is: not to entertain people like Don who get off on creating contraversy, and in the future to take a moment to repond and encourage the naive to paricipate.

The purpose of this thread as indicated by the title is to be a "gold price monitor". In actuallity, from the posts, the thread is really interested in monitoring those events that may have an impact on the price of gold. Can this thread collectively agree on those events that are most important to monitor. Does it make sense for this thread to estabilsh criteria. Perhaps to do so becomes to structured and takes away from the fun. Alternatively, such a thread, with established criteria takes on a certain "credability" that may have value to all. I'm just suggesting that with many of you having substantial knowledge it would really be interesting to see what you collectively agree upon.

Please excuse any spelling errors.

Finally, I just had to respond when i see people like Don taking up everyones energy that could be better utilized. It is important to consider all views but only if they are in the spirit of providing insight and contribute to the knowledge of this thread.
