I was reading your posted scripture and when I came upon this one: 20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God., I could not help but think that even though there are several of us who have differing opinions about many things, we would do well to remember Paul's words.
(1 Cor 1:17 NIV) For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel--not with words of human wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.
(1 Cor 2:2 KJV) For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
The gospel...the good news.... Christ crucified.....
