Christine,
If an intern is an adult, and consents, that makes the intern a consenting adult. I'm sure she was in love with him, or at least with the position he occupies. Many women find it very easy to fall in love with power and the powerful.
Not saying it's right, mind, just that it's less than earth-shattering.
I also don't see how saying she was a horny young woman with a power fetish is damaging. So she had sex with a married guy. She's hardly the first. We see and accept, no judgement needed. It's the way of the world.
<<It is more like a learning experience than a job.>>
She just learned a different lesson than the one anticipated. I seriously doubt that she was the first intern, in the White House or elsewhere, to mix work and pleasure.
<<Regarding lobbing those missiles, you are correct that we did not ask that our embassies in Africa be bombed. But by resorting to the same level of attack, we also become no better than terrorists, ourselves.>>
True. I didn't say I approved, only that this has been our standard response to terrorism for years, and it's a bit odd to get suddenly excited about it now.
