Interestingly, the Fed's model shows that stocks were fairly valued at the end of 1996 and became 18% overvalued by the summer of l997. In September 1987, just prior to the October crash, stocks were 32% above fair value. Immediately after the crash, stocks were 7% undervalued. They were consistently undervalued from 1993 through 1995.

Stocks are 5.9% undervalued now.
