Volunteer, re. the mechanical screen for Value Line #5 stocks with NIL dividends and NMF (= not meaningful) p/e, the results didn't stay that good very long. Soon enough he had poorer results. Anyway with only a handful of stocks for a few months, I don't think the scheme was subject to a statistically meaningful test.

It would be possible for somebody with a good library or the CD's to backtest the method, though, and actually do a meaningful test.
