I agree. v/c is inevitable, but not today and not tomorrow. Even with widespread cable modem adoption, the load on the node servers is still great, plus typical 2way cable modems only support 64kb upstream ... not enough for decent quality.

Just think, put a couple of 8-gig drives in the car stereo, enough storage for over three THOUSAND songs, ANY of which can be accessed INSTANTLY. No changing magazines, no delay in changing CDs, no skipping, virtually no seek time, total rewritability, easy labeling, grouping, sorting, shuffling -- a paradigm buster!
