But WE haven't had time for OUR kneejerk reaction.

The German DAX is interesting. It was up almost 4 % (!) within a few minutes of trading and has been steadily down ever since (- 2 % now since intra-day top).

The next move will be big, but it could be up or down. In fact, I may switch sides tomorrow. For the first time in a couple of weeks there are some potentially positive factors on the horizon (a new Russian government, not today but probably within a week; a possible compromise in Japan on a reform package; HK getting the upper hand on the speculators?). There are still a lot of negative factors around: Clinton again and an early pre-warnings' season (could start to strike any day). I will probably reestablish a spread tomorrow or even sell my puts.

Regards,

Phil

P.S.: Don't get me wrong. I still think that any substantial rally will be short-term, but it could be a couple of weeks before the market turns south again. All I am saying is that the first leg of the bear may be over without a crash.
