Hello Tom, Being a TRADER is an evolutionary journey that takes you full circle through TA....... You start by hearing a few people talk and you get "real" excited. You want to make a million and never have to go to the office again. You think that the secret is finding that one great indicator or system that will "Beat the Market" and make you money. You start with a few Moving Average Xovers then progress to some more complicated stuff until you have so much you lose track of what you are doing..... After a while, you either get tired of losing money or frustrated by writing thousands of scans, so you either quit TA or simplify your systems. You review what it was you did when you made money and you start to "stick to it." The more you stay in TA the more you realize that it's not the systems, scans, or indicators that make you money, it's YOU.... It's the "ART" of knowing when to get in and get out. It's the ability to "lose money" without taking it personal. It's the emotional strength to realize that this is business! That's when you have learned the lessons that will make you successful. Take a look at the following page and see what I mean. It's a chart of LU that shows a few MACD's and Indicators. The Indicators told you not to get into LU since it's high a few weeks ago yet I know a few who just "wanted" to get in because they knew it was going up..... Well, it will go up sooner or later BUT, it will not happen unless the MACD (8-17-9) turns long..... goinvest.com
