Hi John, Since you're so interested in technical analysis I thought I'd pass on current sun-spot activity so you may coordinate Amati with solar activity. Now don't laugh, months from now Amati might flare up as a result of predictble heavenly events. Please notify us if you get a "read" on this in advance : )

BEARALERT 1996 DEC. 18 18:30 UT
New reversed polarity flux is emerging just north of NOAA region
8004 in the northern hemisphere within 10 degrees of the equator
(N07 W18 on Dec. 18th at 18:30). Hal thinks that it is possible
that this is a low-latitude new cycle (23) spot group. If the new positive
polarity leader spot continues to grow, it may combine with the old
negative polarity spots in region 8004 which would result in a magnetic
configuration capable of producing flare activity. Right now there are
a few areas with moderate gradients. We expect C-class events and
maybe even M-class.

Current images can be viewed on our home page at bigbear.caltech.edu
and a nice current sunspot drawing from Mount Wilson Observatory can be
seen at astro.ucla.edu
