David--I am following your MACD 8/17/9 discussion and wonder how reliable the indicator is as a buy signal. I happened to come across AMD. On the weekly chart it appears to be ready to move up. I pick this only as an example and have no interest in purchasing the stock. What else would you look at after you have a signal of the MACD 8/17 moving above the 9 day average. (Did I get it right?)
