got an old high school buddy who flies FA-18 in the Navy. He's a wild-man!

re: sell stops. seems like i've always gotten whipsawed, esp in a volatile market with volatile stocks. i'm more apt to buy and hold, unless the story had changed or fundamentals break down.

use IBD RS and EPS. the "workshop" at the motley fool uses these, along with value line, in their stock screens.

as you can tell i'm trying to develop a shorting strategy to hedge my longs. im not shooting for the moon, just 5-10% per year. using my longs as collateral that is profit added to my longs. actually if i just break even with the shorts, i'd be happy just so they coud cushion the blows of months like aug 98, oct 97, etc.

btw i've seen you on Herm's thread. i think i've given up on selling options. the plan of limited profits with potential unlimited loss just didn't work out. may sell some in the future if i find a system that works. guess there's no such thing as easy money...
