No, the data I have kept track of did not get into the detail of the name of the funds. I believe the process of the growth funds bailing out and the value funds buying is probably true. To me, that would make it even more strange that the number of institutions and the percentage held for each individual stock has held so much the same over a relatively long period of time.

I don't have any answer at the present time. I wish I knew more about the update periods, both the institutions buy and sell update periods, and how often the information is updated on the web. That whole process is relatively complicated compared to the posting of individual stock prices. As we know, that happens in "real time" throughout each trading day, but the updating of institutional holding data may happen in "real slow time" before the individual investor gets the information.
