A story is making the rounds in Washington about a meeting between a State Department official and a government representative in a Third World country.

The Foreign Service officer asks what the nation is doing to deal with the Millennium Bug. The government official raises his hand reassuringly.

"Don't worry," he tells the American. "We are prepared to spray everywhere."
