I think this borders on the simplistic. Perhaps this was written before the more efficient processors were introduced. I favor full towers but for different reasons. I want the increased room for drives. I see a marginal cooling improvement as an added benefit, not a determining factor.

Properly installed CPU and case cooling fans should have more of an affect on temperature than case size IMO. I would feel comfortable with one 7200 RPM HD, 3 expansion cards and a PII 300 with good case airflow and a quality CPU fan. (from a temperature perspective)
