Bdog,

My first trip to a casino, ever, and I didn't gamble, but I studied a few hours at the craps table. Harrah's actually offers 50% payout on some of the 36 possible combinations of dice rolls. I thought that was mighty generous as I previously held the misconception there was no edge trading against the house. The house edge was neutralized for anyone willing to only bet on the even odds combinations. I didn't study long enough to find a way to increase the odds beyond 50. But with side bets, line bets and passline bets being just the tip of the iceberg, I surmise there is.

I lost a 1/2 in a coke machine, both tries no drink, .75 cents change returned on a $1 dollar bet. Odds didn't really matter as I was prepared to bid $5 to get something to drink about that time and too tired to go back down the elevator. Strange how gambling makes one see the odds everywhere we look. It's a cheap education in how to maintain focus.

There were lots of these little extras I didn't expect, that I attribute to Doug's encouragement to look for the magic. It's definitely there for whoever seeks it.
