Just a thought for all to Ponder - I wonder if it is just coincidence of the timing of the Q Spinoff and the OCTOBER date for Lucent to begin acquisitions using their own stock? Look at the fit. The infrastructure business is gone, alleviating any anti trust concerns for LU; they get a great IPR folder with revenue streams, immediately accretive to earnings, and now the battle of "Little Q" vs the ERICY becomes the mighty LU vs the Sweedish enemy for 3G standards. LU I am sure has alot deeper pockets than the Q. Perhaps Harvey White wanted to remain an independent and out on his own. The deal may already be done between Q and LU. Once again who knows, but the timing looks real good. ..
