**OT** Fair point Eddie. I'm guilty of taking your question too literally, exactly what I accused you of doing. I never questioned whether or not we were in a bear market, but I did find the time factor quite interesting. I'm sorry that the question came across, and was taken, as facetious but it was a genuine interest that led me to ask. As I said, I do not have the answer, but I am interested to know how the time factor comes into it. If the DOW had dropped 20% last October instead of the percentage that it did, and given that the DOW hit new highs a few months later, could that have qualified as a three or four month bear market? After all, what was happening in Asia was serious enough. I used your question as a catalyst to ask the question that had perplexed me. I had thought you may like to debate this, but after your wise ass reply my tone did admittedly change.
So anyone else care to comment on this. If only to appease my anal ruminations :)
