I think your observation on GE is right on (Disclosure: Yes I am a big owner of GE - because of its management & its "diversification", not to mention that GE Capital is a company-within-a-company).

Matter of fact - we may have seen a good "IT/LT buying opportunity" Friday - before it came back 3 points at the end of the day.

P.S.- An example of GE in action below. By the way, they may be one of the few multnationals to be able to take advantage of the global problems by buying-up good foreign companies while they are on sale. I think it is possible that the situation could even be a net positive for GE (able to make more future gains from the situation than the lose in short term foreign sales). Of course - just one man's opinion.
