JFQ, I think that the probability of alien beings is high, but I don't consider it a belief until it is verified. Someone said that either there is other intelligent life out there, or we are alone in this vast universe. Either way, it is mind boggling. If there is, then statistically, they would probably have been evolving far longer than we have. They would have abilities that a lot of people would perceive as god-like. If we are alone, then we are truly special. I think it is the former.

I would like to see spacecraft built using nanotechnology. That is the only hope that we have of accelerating a probe to speeds high enough to explore other star systems within a lifetime. Once they were developed, they could be mass produced, and thousands of them sent in all directions.
