You are right. The near term question as to the size of the market is a good one. Many, many people who have bought their first computer are just learning about the world of telecommunications. I also have friends who have never even tried out their modems that came with their recent purchases.

Nevertheless, the market for increased speed is real and it is probably true that those of us here on SI are the early adopters in this growing market.
