First of all I'd like to point out that Slider Never posted anything offensive to me or about me as far as I know. My being 'thin-skinned' did not enter into it.

I have seen, as I'm sure many others here have, Threads which have become cheering sections for this or that stock; Threads where any negative news or opinion is met with hostility and accusations of deceit. These threads are, IMO, worse than useless. The value of SI is as a forum for differing points of view. Slider's posts to and about those who disagreed with him threatened to greatly diminish the input of some points of view.

I received many private posts in support of the idea that this sort of thing was harmful to the thread and discouraged posting by many.

I think Slider made valuable contributions here, but he also was purposely insulting and abusive. I would ignore what you call "flowery language." Personal Insults and Libel do not come under this heading in my book. Nor are they protected as "Free Speech". The people insulted and libeled are likely to choose to not post here again. The lack of their input could cost me, and that's why I'm out to stop Slider. --- Stop his abusive, insulting, demeaning posts, that is. I would like to have him here without the 'Terms of Use' violations. But I doubt he could manage it.

(Bernie, I notice that you managed to disagree with me without calling me anything worse than 'thin-skinned', and that indirectly. <G> )
