sorry, Ken for the confusion. CEF is an abbreviation for 'closed end funds'. Like "The Mexico Fund", for example. These are mutual funds that trade like stocks. Unlike the normal open end mutual funds, they have a fixed number of shares, and the share price varies independently of the net asset value according to how the shares trade on a given day.
