OS 8.1 includes Mac OS Runtime for Java 2.0 and that includes Apple's implementation of the Java Virtual Machine and related libraries which is based on software created by the Javasoft business unit of Sun Microsystems, Inc. Getting dizzy yet? This information is from the readme file included with Mac OS Runtime for Java 2.0. IE 4.01 still chokes on some Javascripts. Oddly, the ones that seem to give IE fits, work well on Communicator 4.06. Is there a conspiracy? I think so, and Microsoft is the one who is deliberately gumming up the works. I've had trouble with IE 4.01 and SI in that when trying to edit a post after previewing, first a Javascript error, then the composed text is absent from the editor page. Only flipping forward to the preview page and copying to the clipboard saved the day. Another site that is trouble: Lottonet.com, lottonet.com It is impossible to navigate in IE 4.01 because the site makes full use of pop up menus for selecting a state and a date range to generate a report. IE 4.01 does not present the pop up menus. They both crash on occasion, but IE 4.01 will frequently crash when trying to print out a web page. This is VERY FRUSTRATING. You may end up having to reboot. Otherwise it seems to be a pretty slick program. I agree with the suggestion to use Communicator 4.06. As long as they are free, they will be buggy. Communicator 4.06 is the lesser of the two evils. HerbVic
