Eliz. Sorry. I thought you were saying that you wanted to buy Dell after the split. Too bad you did not buy in late last week before the split. I have put that split story on sev. times. It generally does not pay to wait until after the split. Remember for the future. If you want to buy a stock after the split because you can buy more then, you can buy half the amount before the split and end up with the same amount that you want to buy after the split. Like 50 shares on Friday would be 100 shares today with a gain of 600.

I am still buying some trading stocks but when it comes to good stocks I generally hold on unless I need to sell a big chunk to reduce my margin. That is how I sold my CPQ at 35. I still think it will make investors money and I will be back in before it reaches 35. I missed the boat at 27+ this time around because I was worried, probably like the rest of us, that the market may be heading straight for disaster. gg. If you are holding for the long term, buying the best company in its category, you will generally not go wrong. Only if the fundamentals change do you need to reevaluate.

Sure would be nice to see more days like this. It would not take very long to reach Abby Cohen's target of a DOW 9300 or more by years end. But I am sure there will be more obstacles on the way. Latin America has not taken their turn yet all the way. At least that's the talk on the Street. Maybe the Street will be wrong. But I am sure it will be volatile for some time to come.

Sonny
