Tim -

Unix in its infancy was a joke.

To whom? When, exactly, do you think it was in it's infancy?

The stories of Unix going down are numerous

11:40pm up 157 days, 11:26, load average: 2.48, 1.41, 0.63

Hmmm, with 29 current users, this machine seems pretty stable.

and typical of a new operating system.

wtf are you talking about here? Which OS is new?

You can't please everyone.

Go tell the NT will conquer the world crowd, please.

Patience.....

Yeah, soon NT7sp45 will give us all the functionality, stability, and resilience of Unix. Til then, though, my choice is clear.

Whats always seemed weird to me is that if you look at a computer professional's NT box, they've made it look like Unix in order to get any real work done. Why's that, do you think?

If you'd like to discuss the pros and cons of operating systems, I'd be happy to oblige, but don't just go throwing crap around and expect people to think you know wtf you're talking about.
