Welcome ben,

...CPQ has been dead money for almost a year...
Agreed, a recent poster mentioned that in its long history, CPQ has
had a few 1+ years of relative stagnation.

...The guys at CPQ are too pre-occupied with being the biggest
PC maker...

I don't think so. My take is that CPQ is gunning to be far more than
a PC maker. Witness the acquisition of DEC, mainly for it's strong
service capabilities. CPQ is/has repositioned for a completely
different market! (Alpha is a possible bonus depending on the
marketing/marketability of the product).

...DELL or GATEWAY has almost doubled in just one year, but CPQ
is still a little over the initial investment...

Fair comment, there are reasons for some stagnation. No earnings due
to channel stuffing and then the DEC acquisition came along...

...on days that other stocks post substantial gains, CPQ remains
same...

Huh?! Yesterday's relative change...

CPQ +8.42%
DELL +9.47% (The only gain bigger than CPQ on this list)
IBM +5.50%
HWP +4.34%
SUNW +6.30%
INTC +4.67%
MSFT +5.53%
DOW +4.98%
NAZ +6.02%
S&P500 +5.09%

Granted, this is only a single day at the (hopeful) end of a
substantial downturn. The market is still extremely unpredictable
from a TA perspective. Too many emotions. Hang in there, CPQ is a
solid bet!
