A poster on Yahoo today indicated that Clinton was going to ask Congress for $3B for security measures.

I'm afraid that's not quite true - I did find an article at the New York Times web site (Sept 8'th) about this. He is going to ask for $1B to $3B to rebuild the two embassies that were recently destroyed, and for beefed-up security measures at others.

There is also a story today (the 9'th) in the NYT pointing out how shabby the security is at many U.S. embassies. Things a bit more basic than bomb detectors, I'm afraid.

(Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any good way to post a link to NYT articles that looks like it would still be good tomorrow. Best way is to go there and do a search.)

However, this probably does bode well for Barringer, as they do make equipment that could be used as part of increased security at embassies, and I believe that their equipment already has some use in this application.
