The question we have to ask ourselves is do we have Netanyahu running the US presidency or Bill Clinton. It is an American Government or is it an Israeli puppet? If this is only way the Israelis can get their way in the middle east is to smear every last politician before he can get into congress then perhaps we should enact a law that makes it illegal to bring a conviction of personal behaviour against a sitting member. In other words give them privilege. I don't give a fiddler's f---- how many chicks or studs any member has screwed of whatever sexual contrast as long as he is not in the pay or under the blackmail of a foreign power or any other group. If remove ourselves of the obsession that a personal history is the most important thing in office and focus on the voting record I think we will get back to a sense of normalcy and balance. I think the only way to do this is to stop the sexual witchhunts and focus on government. Absolute personal privilege and freedom from unwarranted investigation of a private life should be a hallmark of Congress and it would remove threat of blackmail, cheap smear campaigns and setups with prostitutes as the Lewinsky affair was. Lincoln was forced by Congress to answer questions about the whereabouts of M. Todd in congress and was shameful then and it is shameful now 138 years later. I am sure Clinton is contrite as he realizes he was made a fool of by powerful people. The sex is insignificant. Every member of the grand jury who sat in judgement sits on the same organs Clinton has and has used them in the same way. Starr should stick his where it counts. If somebody should hand me that Starr report I would at first feel some curiousity about it. But then I would take it and throw it in the fireplace where it belongs. Unread. I am sure I can imagine better affairs. It is unimaginable that we should be concerned about who is sleeping with who on Capitol Hill. I am sure the bed hopping would make crickets blush. So they are human. So they err. Well so does half of suburbia from Mass. to L.A. I don't applaud it, but I will let those who may be in what error that is escape my censure as I am sure they can find enough at home. mailto:echarter@vianet.on.ca
