You're getting pretty slippery here Tim. Are you a student of cheesy high school debate tricks? Reggie hasn't been posting much lately, you'll have to hit the archives for examples from the master.

Do you have any example of your favored kind of "politics" being used to force Unix to be used to control warships? In its infancy or otherwise? Do you consider NT to be "in its infancy"? Cutler was supposed to have started the project in '87 or so, at a different company.

"Because of politics, some things are being forced on us that without political pressure we might not do, like Windows NT," Redman said. "If it were up to me I probably would not have used Windows NT in this particular application. If we used Unix, we would have a system that has less of a tendency to go down."

I hope this tendency doesn't extend to the ships themselves. Maybe it's all part of Bill's DNA retrovirus initiative.
