Not so fast cowboy, some of those good customers (banks and consumers) use only MS Money. A little more than a year ago, Intuit was charging an egregious amount per user tot he bank; that forced some banks to only chose MS Money. Intuit corrected that but the decision was made by some banks already.

If CheckFree does "play hardball", watch subscriber base drop, bank anger rise, a chorus of other company's like Citibank, Travelers Express ect pick up some easy customers. I think the illness is on Microsoft to continue supporting CheckFree.

This happened when Intuit started their own payment service some years ago (ISC). The loyal CheckFree customer "forced" Intuit to support CheckFree which eventually lead to CheckFree acquiring that ISC payment operations. Let Microsoft make the decision to support CheckFree or not. Banks that rely on CheckFree for bill payment and MS Money for customer software will keep the co-opetiton (a Ray Norda, former CEO of Novell word) going between CKFR an MSFT.

IMHO,

Gregg
