Advanced Optics Electronics to Increase Production Capacity

Company Has Qualified Buyers for Seven Additional Displays Totaling $7 Million

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--September 9, 1998--Advanced Optics Electronics, Inc. (OTC BB: ADOT) today announced the Company is gearing up for assembly-type production of its display systems by adding key technical personnel to the production team.

Advanced Optics currently has contracts for two flat-panel displays that are now being fitted with satellite communications systems as requested by the buyers.

The Company has recently pre-qualified several buyers for seven additional large-scale, flat-panel displays and will announce each of these contracts as they are formalized and signed.

Advanced Optics also announced it intends to create a marketing department in January to market the Company's products and handle the growing list of requests for the Company's flat-panel displays.

In other news, Biomoda, Inc. (of which Advanced Optics owns approximately 22% with an option to increase its holdings to 27%) recently informed Advanced Optics that LungCheck(R), Inc. of Scottsdale, AZ has nearly completed its blind study of Biomoda's test for the early detection of lung cancer. These results will be sent for confirmation to a prestigious institution on the East coast, with further confirmation expected by the first week in October. Verified results will be submitted to various medical journals for publication.

Upon receipt of the test results from LungCheck, Biomoda expects to open formal negotiations with several major pharmaceutical and medical technology companies including SCHERING AG/Berlex, a German-based company with over $3.8 Billion ($U.S.) in annual revenues and offices world-wide. Schering AG/Berlex specializes in early diagnostics and therapy, two key areas addressed in Biomoda's cancer testing and treatment program. Preliminary discussions had previously been held between representatives of Berlex Labs in Wayne, NJ and representatives of Biomoda, Inc.
