He's not the first SAP senior exec to move on, of course. Many of them I've spoken with have expressed a bit of frustration regarding the level of autonomy and authority (or lack thereof) they've been granted by HQ in Germany.

Don't underestimate their SCM initiatives, however. Much like Microsoft's blitzkrieg on the Internet, SAP can succeed through sheer size and allocation of substantial resources to the effort.

That said, however, ITWO is in an enviable leadership position in the market segment, and I'm very, very surprised at the recent depression in the share price. This is a phenomenal medium-to-long term investment opportunity.
