Bob... did some experimenting and the 40comupd.exe installs a copy of the dll version 4.72.2106.4 @452KB 11/17/97. This one works with my system. Now the really interesting part: the QP update program installs a dll version 4.72.3110.1 dated 5/8/98, same as yours but the size of the file is only 438KB. Maybe the dll is corrupt only. I'll see if I can locate one with 452KB and try it again.... John
