Thanks for the cheering up Redhead! And my broker just said something nice to me,he said I am cutting my teeth on the toughest market he has
seen in many, many years,he said the individual investors that have been making easy money the past long bull market are getting in some cases
clobbered as they don't have a clue about playing the market in rough times.
I am actually glad it is this way as a year or so from now I am intending on trading on very serious basis--and I am piling up much rapid experience---BTW if my equities still held were overall just get to breakeven I would be up 35% for the year---my anger with myself is I made two very bad entries this year--ABTX at 18 just before freefall
(and I went AGAINST 2nd Opinion AVOID rating--I am learning to respect 2nd Opinion very much---and a bad timing with NEWZ in a trade attempt)The single biggest lesson I have learned is to be willing at all times to take a 10% stop-loss on stocks when in an investing for cash portfolio---but I do feel I am a far far more savvy than I was 6-months ago--I actually feel my brain loading up with lessons learned.
But I do believe we must consider Fleckenstein and TICE so that
if their scenario were to play out for 1999 going to 2000 we will have already done our homework and know how to adapt and profit from the situation. We must that is not form fixed notions on what the future will be,and risk our monies on a the market always coming back--of
course ones age is a major factor--if I was 30 now and had a 100k I
didn't need,I would load up on something like oilservices/drillers
and put shares in a drawer and forget about them.
I sold my TVX at 675dollar loss today and sold my ORX at breakeven
as one the POG is slipping again--but I will return to gold again--
my ORX I sold because it did not fit my discipline, and that is if a stock bought on takeover speculation is not an acceptable stock if the takeover does not happen, then don't hold it---last night I found that
ORX is carrying massive debt and they are rolling the dice on a major speculation called BALDPATE,the worlds tallest tower---if this were not to work out they will be toast---but this BALDPATE project is worth
checking out--it is INCREDIBLE---it is on their web-site.Good Luck,Max
