Regarding 2001 LEAPS....

*Under the assumption of a recovery between early 99 and mid 2000*

1. Do you expect a rocket upward in AMAT's price to near (or beyond) 40 when even a *hint* of the turnaround is evident? If so, do the rules regarding AMAT's price to sales ratio apply? I mean to say,
AMAT, at 40 in the next 12 months, would not be overpriced? Should I discount traditional measuring tools (pe, p/s, book value) at this point with regards to AMAT?

2. I'm tempted to initiate a position, perhaps 5-10 leaps on AMAT 40 2001 (ZPJAH), however AMAT has yet to get to 26+ territory yesterday or today. That chart at securitytrader looked downright sad.
Perhaps after 4Q earnings, will we have truly "bottomed"? Had much success last year with AMAT Jan 200 leaps (LPJAH, LPJAF) and would like to replicate those same % returns.

Thank you Jacob and Big Bucks for your insights and strategies!
