As far as DVD, it's not new, IBM's 770 Thinkpads have shipped with DVD for what seems like almost a year now. They were the first. Dell is first (among the majors) with a 15" screen, I have seen some niche players with this screen (Fosa) shipping laptops over the past several months. Problem with the niche machines is that they get close to the 10 pound area because the 15" screen requires a larger case, which makes them less and less of a laptop. From what I have read Dell (actually it's supplier) may have gotten around this somewhat by some nifty case design. Not sure how much the big screen Dell weighs...
