I have to say that when I first saw the iMac, the day it was presented, I wasn't overly impressed by its design. My idea of a cool looking machine is something like spartacus. Then a few days ago I bought the latest issue of MacWorld which has an iMac in the cover and plenty of pictures inside and I thought "cool, I like it".

Well, today I saw an iMac IRL and I'm dissapointed. The mouse is entirely too small. From where I was standing all I could see inside the translucid plastic was a metal frame (no LEDs or neat looking circuitry).

The iMac stand was located next to the queue for the cash register, so you could not walk out of the store without looking at the iMac. Good placing, if you ask me. However there was the complete lack of reaction from customers to it. I was in the store about 10-15 minutes, in which time over 20 persons walked in front of the iMac and only a couple of girls noticed it. I'd guess a Compaq in the same spot would garnish even less attention, but the iMac design being so radical and all I expected more people to stop and look at it.

Lastly the price is awful. For $500 Cdn less a friend bought a compaq with a colour printer included....
